Reds & Whisky
A hosted Orange day tour for lovers of bold reds, fine whisky and good company.
Not your standard wine tour
Coming soon to Orange, Reds & Whisky is a premium hosted day tour built for people who like their wine with depth, their whisky with character, and their day out with a bit more substance than the standard cellar-door run.
This is a curated day for people who enjoy substance in the glass, character in the venues, and the pleasure of a well-paced experience from start to finish.
It's a curated day through some of Orange's most serious red wine producers, finishing with a whisky tasting and a dinner-style experience designed to bring the whole thing together.
Think cool-climate reds, proper stories, beautiful country, good food, good conversation and a relaxed premium transfer experience from start to finish.
The Experience
Three producers. One serious day.
01
Canobolas Wines
First Stop
We begin at Canobolas Wines, one of the most important names in the Orange wine story.
Set on the slopes of Mount Canobolas, this is a winery with history, seriousness and a real sense of place. Canobolas brings the kind of red wine presence that gives the day its backbone — structured, age-worthy, cool-climate wines with depth and confidence. It's the perfect opening chapter: premium, grounded and unmistakably Orange.
02
Rikard Wines
Second Stop
From there, we move to Rikard Wines, where the red wine story becomes more precise, refined and contemporary.
Rikard is all about high-altitude, cool-climate expression — wines with shape, line and savoury detail rather than brute force. This is the stop for people who enjoy wines that make them pause for a moment and think. Elegant, thoughtful and beautifully made, Rikard adds a more modern edge to the Reds & Whisky experience.
03
De Salis Wines
Third Stop
The red wine chapter continues at De Salis Wines, high on Mount Canobolas.
De Salis brings a premium, elevated feel to the day. The setting is spectacular, the wines are handcrafted, and the family story gives the experience a personal quality that suits this tour beautifully. This is where the day starts to slow down a little. The views open up, the wines become part of the landscape, and the experience starts to feel less like a tour and more like a proper Orange day out.
The Whisky Finale: Jones & Smith Distillery
After the red wine journey, the day finishes at Jones & Smith Distillery in Lucknow — a family-owned Central West craft distillery producing Australian single malt whisky, gin, brandy and eau de vie.
This is the natural closing chapter for Reds & Whisky. After a day exploring cool-climate red wines from the slopes of Mount Canobolas, Jones & Smith brings the experience back to grain, oak, time and craft. Their whisky is authentically made and aged in the Central West, using quality malted barley, pure local water and the region's cool climate to shape flavour and character.
Guests will enjoy a guided whisky tasting in a relaxed, fireside-style finish to the day — richer, deeper and perfectly suited to good conversation. Bookending this day and experience, your whisky tasting will be accompanied by a sumptuous meal — think Tomahawk steak and ribs, with a whisky-maple glaze and chargrilled corn on the cob. All served in a laid-back setting that fosters real conversation.
It's the perfect final pour: local, characterful and unmistakably Central West.

Why Reds & Whisky?
Orange is often known for its white wines, sparkling and high-altitude freshness, but its red wines deserve just as much attention.
The best Orange reds are not big, heavy, overworked wines. They're cooler, more structured and more thoughtful. They carry spice, savoury detail, fine tannin and a strong sense of place.
That makes them a natural partner for whisky. Both are about patience. Craft. Texture. Warmth. Conversation. And, when done well, a sense that what's in the glass has a story behind it.
That's what Reds & Whisky is built around.
Reds & Whisky is currently being shaped with selected Orange producers and hospitality partners. Places will be limited, the groups will be small, and the experience will be deliberately personal.
